20140422_151857Chimera Enterprise (parent company of YCHH) worked with the University of New Haven in April 2014 to help them put on an Earth Day relay maze event and here is what they had to say:

“The UNH Green Team really enjoyed working with Chimera Enterprise. They made our event better than we could have hoped for. Angelus and his team were very easy to work with, very flexible with everything throughout the whole process, and made the overall process easy. Our event was a huge success and we definitely would recommend that other universities use Chimera Enterprises for their future events. Thanks again!”

If it wasn’t for all of you & your company we wouldn’t have had the amazing party we did. You all were so incredible to work with & a pleasure to have join us. People are still talking about the haunted maze & how they were either really scared & almost peed themselves to a little scared & went through it again & again bc each time was different! And even though it takes ALOT to scare me-some of you got me!

So again we thank you for all your hard work & incredible haunted maze!!!”

Catholic Schools Scare Up Some Profits.

GENEVA, NY — Bill  Greco, (Chairman of St. Francis-St. Stephen’s Family Fun Festival ), admits the organizers of the St. Francis-St. Stephen’s Old Time Family Fun Festival took a chance by having a haunted maze at this year’s event.  In the end, it was money well spent. Greco said everyone navigating the maze was satisfied.  “Yesterday was just over the top,” he said. “We didn’t know what to expect, but it was just non-stop. From the minute we opened right until 10 o’clock, it was full.”  A trip through the maze, dubbed “Nightmare on Elmwood Avenue”, cost $5 for a pre-sale ticket or $7 at the gate. “The part that made me the happiest was everybody loved it, whether it was small children, middle-aged people or the older folks,”

– Bill Greco, “Whenever people spend that kind of money for something like this, if it wasn’t good they would let us know. I didn’t have one person come up to me and say anything other than how fantastic it was.”

Festival organizers contracted with a Connecticut company, Chimera Enterprise, LLC, to set up the maze. The job took about nine hours.  “We specialize in everything Halloween,” said the company owner, Angelus Perez, called ‘Mr. Halloween’ and has been setting up haunts for nearly 30 years. “People call us when they want to do something like this. If they want a haunted experience, they get it.”

Thank you so much for having us out last week. We had a blast checking out all the Halloween items.

Here are some of the cute photos from our Halloween party. The little ghost buster is DJ’s son – DJ is the one who is super into Halloween. His expression is awesome 🙂

Chimera Enterprise was honored to serve our defenders of our nation!
We are hosting a family day event.  It is to give back to all our families who have supported us over the last year.  Many of us have deployed for too many locations and have been gone for long periods of time.  This would be one small way we can show our appreciation!  The morning will start off with awards and decorations and with eating and entertainment.  We will have hay rides, cotton candy, bouncy house, etc.  The haunted house would be the main  entertainment for the children.  Follow link to see parts of the event.

A thank you letter and testimonials from the student body and faculty of Southern Connecticut State University for our support of their annual American Cancer Society’s “Relay For Life ” fundraiser:

Dollars Raised:  $21,370.35

Combining online donations, The Relay made over $40,000!

“Angelus, Kim, Michael, and everyone down at Chimera Enterprises and www.yourcustomhauntedhouse.com,

I cannot thank you enough for all the kind help, assistance, and effort you guys put into this event. We were able to raise a lot of money, and helped an incredible cause! Plus, everyone loved it! We didn’t have a single complaint! (Minus the fact my fog was covering EVERYTHING haha). I have never worked with an inflatable attraction before, but it definitely opened my eyes to it, this was incredible!!! I don’t see why anyone wouldn’t want to have one of these bad boys at their event!? It was so easy to set up and take down and the visual WOW it had was outstanding! I loved coordinating with you guys, you helped me become a better chair, and improved my “business professionalism”.

Chimera Enterprises certainly does “fright right”! I was busy running around the entire event, but from what I saw, the entire haunt went up so quickly and looked extremely professional. The lack of stress made me love it, and when I walked through later that night, it was simply impressive! Thank you Chimera Enterprises for an outstanding addition to our event, your company was of great importance to our Relay for Life and helped us raise a lot of money for the American Cancer Society. We would be honored to have you back next year!

This was my last year being involved with Relay for Life at Southern Connecticut State University, and no matter how many times I have been on the committee and even ran the event, there was always constant stress. The one thing I can say about Chimera is that they were not one of my stress’. The attraction went up, looked incredible, and came down and was all packed up easily. I went through the haunt and it looked fabulous! I loved the cemetery mural on the front that just looked too real, and the actors and props were really scary! This was my favorite entertainment committee activity at Relay! Great job guys!

“Thank you so much for everything Chimera Enterprises has done, I am personally extremely grateful”!

Bobby Arel,  Relay for Life of SCSU Entertainment Chair

The Haunted Barn, A One Night Fundraiser; 5,000 people in 4 Hours

“On behalf of the Town of Trumbull and its residents, this letter expresses appreciation for  time, props and expertise  toward Trumbull’s annual Halloween Happening event.

We were most fortunate to have discussions with, a professional illusionist, who offered  time and props to allow the Town to proceed with its event. Our first floor barn maze was create and outfitted with great figments of our imagination. The municipality and our Civic Organizations provided the extras.

Needless to say, without this very generous  time, energy and expertise we could not have had the success of providing such an event  for the benefit of close to the 5,000 people who were in attendance”.

– Joan E. Plouffe, Secretary to the First Selectman, Town of Trumbull, 5866 Main Street, Trumbull, CT 06611

“It was about a month ago that I took my 13 year-old son to your haunted barn in Trumbull, and to this day I am still amazed and excited. Your work is to be commended. We especially liked three areas: the “upside room”, the dungeon, and the Area 51 lab. The visual effects were fantastic. From walking on the ceiling, to the guillotine, to the alien autopsy – great job. But the entire barn was great. We never knew what to expect going around each corner. What was really great was that we felt like we were walking through a maze, ready and anticipating something or someone to scare us. The excitement level couldn’t be beat.

As a father I especially appreciated that the stages were suitable for a wide range of ages. In front of us was a family of smaller children. I appreciated that your “actors” performed based on the age of the audience. My compliments.

I know my son and I are looking forward to next year and walking through your haunted happening again. I know that even if there are no new areas or effects, the thrill and excitement will be there. Your work can easily be appreciated in reruns Again, congratulations on a great job and we hope to see your work again in Trumbull and throughout the area”.

– Frank Grazynski, Trumbull, CT 06611

“I want to thank you all for the fabulous haunted barn that your company designed and constructed at Indian Ledge Park, in Trumbull, CT. I speak for many, when I say that your work is first class. Your efforts are much appreciated and the end result has received an amazing response.

How you managed to construct close to 15 scenes in a small area with plenty of room to spare is short of amazing. The scenes were fun and scary, but at the same time geared towards families with young children. The illusions reminded me of going through a fun house or a set at Hollywood Studios. How you got bats to fly above our heads and produced a floating ghost was surely theme park material. It was exciting to anticipate what was to follow around the next corner.

I look forward to seeing your next attraction, please put me on your mailing list for future events, my business card is enclosed. From what I have heard from others, sounds like you have a lot more to offer. Connecticut can use this kind of wholesome entertainment, especially during these trying tines. Best of luck to you and your company”.

“I would like to thank Mr. Perez for all his hard work and dedication to the Milford Jaycees Haunted House.

He has given us his expertise in many ways through out the preparation and the running of the Haunted House.  His help with ideas on how to improve on our special effects was incredible.  Even just some small pointers that he had given us, made a big difference in the house.  His positive attitude shows in his work and among all of us that worked on the house.  He took his time to help each and every one of us with our part in preparing for the house.

The Milford Jaycees are very pleased to have worked with Mr. Perez and now to have him as a member of our organization”.

“The Rotary Club of Trumbull, CT sponsored another family event, annual fundraiser-Winterfest.  Chimera was called to build a fancy sled for their sled contest event.  The contest consisted of, giant hot dog, a giant sandwich, go-cart type trucks and airplanes and just about anything that could fit on a sled

Chimera was called in too late to really focus on a sled base design so a toboggan was utilized instead.  The project took 6 hours to create a portable volcano that erupted with noise and jetting out flames. The illusion was self-contained with its own power supply and fan. The kids loved it for the illusion or flames and lava.  The adults loved it for its uniqueness.  It won a certificate for “Most Creative”

“Hello!
Thanks again for helping me out with getting the `alien’ head mask and hands, my Halloween scene really had them screamin’ all night!  Yeah,  lemme tellya, when you’ve got yer head crammed into a foamy contraption that weighs alot, you can barely breath, and all you can see is two tiny windows out the disgusting looking mouth about a foot in front of your eyes, and since you have to have to take your glasses off to even squeeze that monstrosity on, ….no glasses!,…… so you can barely even know what’s in front of you…..and,…..it’s  hotter’n-hell,   to boot,……….. you have to get a LOT of satisfaction from the constant stream of screams”!

“Thanks again”.

Your company’s work is unique and innovative and displayed well with in the limited window space of our store.  They appeared life like and captured ones’ attention from a distance.  In fact, local residents, who walk by often and never really noticed our store, came to the store after having their curiosity raised by your window displays.  Good work”!

“Hoping your company future success.
